Student Nurses
University Community Hospital recognizes and values our close working relationships with many local colleges and universities. From our Nurse Internship program to our clinical rotation sites, we provide a myriad of resources and knowledge that helps the students build a strong foundation for their career in Nursing.

Clinical Sites
University Community Hospital provides clinical sites for several nursing schools. They include: The University of South Florida, Hillsborough Community College, St. Petersburg College, Barry University, Pasco Hernando Community College, and Florida State University.

Hillsborough Community College accepted 25 of our nurses or their family members into nursing school through a federal grant they received. University Community Hospital was the only hospital in the Tampa Bay area chosen to receive this special admittance. The nurses from this program are now graduating and will be part of our nursing staff.

University of South Florida – Preceptors of the Year
Each year, the students and faculty of the University of South Florida (USF) College of Nursing choose two nurses from University Community Hospital as outstanding preceptors and mentors to the nursing students. The 2006 USF Preceptors of the Year are:
